All roads lead to the lake
Lake Maggiore sits within reach of Milan and the Alps. Use this early guidance to begin planning, then confirm schedules and routes when the venue area is final.

Recommended airports
Milan Malpensa (MXP) is by far the most convenient major airport. Milan Linate and Milan Bergamo are also options, but slightly futher from Lago Maggiore.

Getting to the lake
Private transfers, rental cars, and rail connections can easily reach the Lake Maggiore area. From MXP it is around a 45 minutes drive to Stresa, and a 1.5 hour train. There are also buses directly to Stresa for certain hotels.

By train
Rail service connects Milan with towns around Lake Maggiore and to Stresa itself. Its also viable to train to Arona, the first town on Maggiore, then taxi to Stresa from there (20 min).

Rental cars
A car is a great idea for independent exploring, though it is not necessary for wedding events since everything is in or around Stresa. Parking in Stresa is also very easy. It's recommended to get an international driver's permit if doing a rental!

Taxis & Ubers
Taxis and Ubers are available from MXP and are a slightly more expensive option for reaching Stresa.

International guests should check passport validity and current entry requirements well before travel. Requirements depend on citizenship and can change.
